Is it possible to paint a metal A/C-Heat vent? I'm not sure if that's the technical name of it...the thing on the floor that is metal and the cool air or heat comes out of... :)

The current one that I would like to paint is all rusty and looks like poo! I'd like to just sand or steel wool it to remove rust/grease/and anything else that would stop the paint from holding, then just paint it with a white latex paint...

If you put latex paint on your vents it will not last, before you know it,it will be comeing off. You can paint them but I addvise you to go with a good oil base paint and primer. It will last and last I like rustkills good for metal.I hope this helps you.Tsparky

Steel wool, the primer, and then use a oil based paint called...rustkills?
