Hello,
This is my first time posting. I have a Rheem air-conditioning unit (residential) outside which was installed just over 5 years ago. I noticed just today that it is running continuously, even when the blower (inside) is off. My home is nice and cool, filter is clear. Isn't the unit supposed to shut off when the blower is off? It always has before. What can I do to diagnose this and fix it.

Thank you for any advise or help,
Steven

Chances are your 24volt Relay coil for contacter maybe stuck to keep the fan and compressor running..... Kill the power on the unit, and go in and see if the contact is stuck. You can do it with out a meter by just unhooking the small 24volt wires and see/hear if it's click.. if it don't click then it may need to be replaced or clean.

Thanks Jay,
Although everything looked connected and functioning, it was filthy. I vacuumed and blew out all the spiders and crap. Put it all together and it seems to work fine. Thanks for the help!
