the air condition ducts are located in the attic and it drips water after its on for several hours.Would a dirty filter cause that and is it located by the pan? please help thanx

you are saying the duct itself is dripping, it is from poor insulation, and the duct itself sweating, the filter is located near the blower section, or possibly in a return grille. a dirty filter would cause icing of the indoor coil, and may be where the water is comming from. so would a low charge, we need a few more details

This sounds as if the pan is ful of water and the drip tube (the one that leads outside) is clogged. Call an A/C person in to blow it out.
