First time owning a house! Which way does the air filter go in the unit - metal side closest to unit or closest to vent in ceiling? Thanks for helping out a blonde with no instructions.....

Hi,
If it's a disposable filter, look on the sides for an arrow indicating direction of airflow. Place the filter with arrow corresponding to the direction the air is flowing through the filter. Most metal frame filters also have an arrow printed on the sides. If this doesn't help, write back. Take Care and Best Wishes.
