The filter is located within the return air duct. This is the large vent that is sucks in air. If unsure of which vent this may be, hold a piece of paper up to the vent, it will suck the paper up to the vent grill.
The filter will either be directly behind that grill or at the bottom of the blower assembly on the air conditioner (where your fan is located). You will have to remove the front panel (s) from the AC unit to access the filter.
What is leaking from the ceiling? Air or Water? Where is the AC unit located? Closet, roof or attic?
If filter is dirty it can cause the unit to ice up. This will not only cause a lost of air flow but can cause water to drip and run. I would check the filter first and clean/replace it. Than post back here to let us know how things are going.
