Have A Trane BTD736A100B0 Split system replaced blower motor
approx. 2.5 weeks ago unit ran fine.(replaced motor because it was overheating) Yesterday compressor shut off outside came inside blower was still running turned stat to off position blower was still running. Changed stat. Set to 78 Now unit will not stop running Set stat to 85, unit shut off but would not turn back on by itself. Have had to resort to manually turning air to off & cool at stat Would appreciate any input, I am thinking it might be fan relay switch?

I don't think your new problem is a coincidence.
Make sure that the wires wrapped around the terminal screws at the stat are not touching an adjacent terminal or screw.
I am not sure what you mean that it works when you manually turn it off and on now. ( How? With the heat/OFF/cool switch or with the temperature dial or lever?)

AT THE HEAT/ COOL/ OFF SWITCH. I TURN IT TO COOL THEN TURN IT TO THE OFF POSITION WHEN THE HOUSE COOLS OFF. WAIT A LITTLE WHILE AND DO IT AGAIN,

OK. I presume that the indoor fan goes on and off with the compressor when using the system switch.
What happens when you turn the temp up to 90 deg?
What happens when you turn the temp down to 60 deg?
Repeating several times, does it do nothing? If anything happens, what happens? Is it the same each time?

Hey,
Some systems are designed or set to do this. The compressor will shut off but the indoor fan will continue to run until it has delivered the cooled air to your living area. Money saving type thing, why leave the cool air in the air ducts when you can have it in the house.Secondly when you say you changed the stat, did you put a new one on or just changed the setting?Alot of times a continuous run of the fan is caused by a bad fan relay.Set your system to where it should kick on(start)if it doesn't,put a jumper wire on it from red to yellow and see if it kicks on for you ,if it does you have a bad thermostat. You have a train system, the installer should have left a owners manual as well as an installation instructions manual with you if you are the owner.I mean for both the ac and the thermostat.
