I have a RHEEM RGRA-06EMAES Furnace with a RHEEM RCBA-24576617 coil on top and would like to add an outdoor unit now to add air conditioning. I was told that this coil is a 10 SEER coil and that is the highest seer value I will be able to achieve with it. Is this true ? What will happen with a higher SEER rared outdoor unit ?
Thank you

I don't know the coil efficiency that you have.
I agree that there is no point in adding an air conditioner OD unit of a higher efficiency than the coil. Also don't mix brands if you care about efficiency and reliability.
The system needs MATCHED components to achieve the potential SEER rating that the manufacturer intended.
