Hi all, I am using some landscape fabric (for the 1st time) in a shade garden. I just finished preparing the soil and laying the fabric. Wondering about planting some early spring bulbs for color before the shade garden will get underway next Spring. Do I just cut a hole (or an "X" ) in the fabric and stick the bulbs in it? I can just picture things not quite lining up right when the bulbs start growing and they'd get stuck under the fabric. Has anyone used bulbs under fabric and can tell me how it went for them? Thanks!

noaxl,
Most bulbs are planted in bunches or groups, so it's best to just remove a section of fabric.

Thanks Fred! I'll give it a try. LOL, I just have this mental picture of myself, pawing thru the mulch to try to find the hole I made in the fabric if it gets shifted during the winter. But what the heck, it's ust a few bulbs anyway even if they get lost in there!
