I recently spilled red finger nail polish on my carpet. Does anyone know how to remove it safely?

Nonacetone nail polish remover tends to be recommended for nail polish removal on carpet. Apply to stain, let set, and blot from outside the stain toward the middle with white cloth. Continue to blot and reapply nonacetone remover as needed. Once stain is removed you will need to remove the banana oil based product. Mix 1/4 tsp dish liquid in 1 cup warm water and blot. Blot with 1/4 cup white vinegar to 3/4 cup warm water to remove soap residues. Then, blot with plain, warm water to rinse. Avoid overwetting carpet. Always use white rags to avoid imparting dyes to carpet. Always blot from outside the stain to the middle. Always blot, do not rub as as this will fray fibers.
