What is the proper mixture to achieve a 1:24 mix? I have a gas edger that is really picky and needs the exact mix. It is a two stroke engine. Does it matter what oil I use...2 stroke of course. Could I use an outboard two stroke engine oil?

PS I usually mix two gallons at a time.

In order to get a 24:1 mix, you need 10.7 ounces of 2 cycle oil per 2 gallons of gas. There are 128 ounces per gallon of gas. :)

I would suggest to you to try a synthetic 2 cycle oil. Using this type of oil will not require measuring. One pack per gallon covers a wide range of mixtures.

There is also several other benefits to using a synthetic oil. Two of which are far less smoke and no carbon buildup.

A two cycle outboard motor is still a two cycle engine. Outboard engine two cycle oil is the same oil and can be used in lawn powered two cycle engines without any problems.
