what spacing should i use for piers, will be using pressure treated 4x4 for joists with 2x6 redwood decking. the deck will be only about 6 to 8 inches off the ground. it will be supporting a spa that weights approx. 2200 lbs. thanks in advance for any replies

it would be easier to have a slab poured and build the deck around the hot tub given your low height. and since you are in CA theres not much issue of heaving due to frost etc. Hope this helps--Josh
