Does anyone have plans or pricing for building a Greenhouse with PVC and is this cheaper. It would need to be at least a 25 x 100 to use as a small business. Also, where's the best place for parts -- plastic, pvc, fastners-- Plugs, trays, soil-- when we start selling etc.

PVC and plastic pipe tend not to be recommended because they can not stand up to wind force and snow load.

Some homeowners, however, erect small PVC greenhouses to protect seedlings.

It might also be helpful to visit some greenhouses in your area to observe construction and operation methods. Also, try to locate a wholesaler of greenhouse supplies in your area.

Your Dept. of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Agent is also a wonderful source of free information. Also, stop by the local library to see what books are available on building greenhouses and operating a greenhouse business.
You will need to check with local building authorities regarding codes, permits, and inspections. You will also need a Business License and a Federal and State Tax ID Number. And, you will need insurance.

Hi,
I built my first greenhouse using pvc pipe, it was only 10' wide and 12' long. My greenhouse now is 14' x 32' galvanized
pipe. I get by with a box fan and a forced air kerosene heater with a thermostat which iI also hook my fan up to. You need to do a lot of research before you start out big. In the spring when you plant you need heat, and a back up heat, and that large I would opt for an alarm. In the summer it can be cloudy and cool
one minute and when the sun comes out and hits that greenhouse the temp can go up fast, you have to start venting.
Twelvepole was right when he said to go to the library, extention and any other source available to you, to get information. A house that big would hold a lot of plant material
and in a short time you could lose it.
read a lot and good luck,
Trent
