I have a white Lexington coffee table...I got it for free so it wasn't something I picked out for myself necessarily. It is kinda done in the cottage style which really doesn't go with any of my furniture but I like the frame and size and am interesting in repainting it. I was thinking either in a sage or black color, and painting a distressed worn look on the edges/corners.
So my question is; What should I do first when going about painting this piece? Should I strip the white paint, or just paint over it? Also is there a particular type of paint I should use or could anyone recommend a brand? I'm thinking an oil based paint but I'm not too sure. Someone help please!
