What is the correct way to attach the end/rim joists to ledger. My ledger board is already attatched and runs flush to the flashing on ends. Is there a special joist hanger to attach the end/rim joists? What I was planning was to toe nail and add corner brackets. Is this sufficient?
Also just wanted to know thoughts on beam for 20' long x 12' wide with 2x10 joists 16"oc. I am going with 2 2x10's with one row of 4 6x6's cantilevered 2 ft. First is the size of beam sufficient on a 10 ft high deck, second should I put the beam on top of the post or can I attach to the side with carriage bolts?
Thanks!

there is a special end joist bracket .. often i simply leave the ledger 3" short and run the rim joists back so there is no visible end grain and then through nail.. its suffeciently strong but more a matter of aethestics
Hope this helps--Josh
