I’m about ready to refinish a redwood deck. Because it’s been neglected for a few years I thought I would try to use a floor sander to smooth out the surface roughness after pressure washing it. Has anyone used one of these before on a deck, and will it do a good job?

stvdlf,
I would recommend against the floor sander. It will leave swirl marks and remove the protective coating on nails or screws.
By the way, the preferred cleaner/brightener for redwood is oxalic acid.
