In the process of painting my nursery, I primed my walls and taped off 1/2" from my border width to paint the finish coat below. I read the label from the (Village) border, it recommends using a wallpaper primer. I used Dulux Gripper primer. Any difference.

Some primer is better than no primer. Wallpaper primers will say on the can "suitable for wallcoverings" or something like that. You should be good to go with what you have, but in the future, read the can. Wallpaper primer is actually sterner stuff than normal primer. This is because of the surface tension that wallpaper applies to a wall during the drying process. The amount of pull along the X and Y axis is incredible.

I took some other advice, from other users and used a border adhesive. It worked well. There is about 1/2" of semi-gloss paint, where I had to reapply adhesive. Top side of the border, because I scraped of the popcorn ceiling and retextured, I couldn't get a true flat surface, a little bumps. Thanks for all the advice.
