Hi Jenni,

I wondered about that too but have never tried it. I wouldn't know why it wouldn't work. The only difference would be that your cutting wasn't put immediately into soil to start the rooting process. The cutting may not have retained enough moisture.

BUT, to try it, cut the rose off. If there are leaves, leave 3-5 near the top of the cutting. Proceed as in the instructions in Twelvepole's link.

You take a chance with any cutting, and you may be taking a bigger chance with this, but you're not out anything to try except for very little time.
