I am considering a summer home with no basement (crawl space) near the ocean and I want to see how much it will cost to winterize it (insulate etc.). The walls have floor to ceiling beed board and the ooutside is aluminum siding. I have no idea what I am getting myself into and I would like to hear your ideas -good and bad.

The easiest way to insulate your walls would be to have cellulose blown into them. The aluminum siding does not pose a problem for a contractor. Insulating the crawl space is not difficult either. I strongly suggest you get more than one estimate, ask for references and check with the Better Business Bureau. Prices vary so much from place to place, it's hard to give you an estimate.
