I am loking onto putting ceramic on my countertop. Does anyone know if the countertop is attached by the 2 " Back of the counter? I want to eliminate this lip and the cackof the counter . Is this where the counter is attached to the wall?

Also which type of glue do i use on the countertop will Mapi be ok?
Or shal i use a cemnt type glue?

That type of molded top should be removed and replaced with plywood and cement backer board. Your top is not attached to the wall, except with caulking. It's screw on (probably) from the underside of the cabinets.
