My dryer is in the basement and currently discharges out a window well. I would like to use the window as a window and run the vent thru the concrete block wall. This is all below ground level so I planned to dig down and run a PVC 4" line out and above ground level. What is the best way to put a hole thru the block? Any easier ideas?

I'm guessing these are standard 8 inch by 16 inch hollow core block - It's fairly easy to break through the hollow areas.First find the block or blocks you'll be breaking through, draw a circle on the wall and the easiest way to find the hollow area is find the center of the block and go about 2 inches to the right or left of it,a couple of good blows with a 2 pound sledge will do it,then begin hammering away with a brick hammer, eventually you'll need a long chisel to chip away at the center web of the block if needed.Stay away from the top 2 coarses{directly under your sill plate-you don't want to disrupt that area.Safety glasses are a MUST here.Good luck
