I have just finished hanging Hardibacker in my tub and shower areas butting it up against green sheet rock for my bathroom remodels. I know that I need to use mortar and nylon tape wherever the hardibacker meets another sheet of hardibacker.
1 - Do I do the same where the sheetrock meets the hardibacker around the perimeter or do I just use regular joint compound?
2 - Also paper tape or nylon tape for those perimeter joints?

Hi
It would be good if you used the mortar, but if you think some of it will be exposed on the edges, then use the joint compound..much easier to sand and blend in when painted. Either tape will work.
