Recently purchased new coffee table. It has a natural aged look. What can I treat it with to make it stain proof, but not change the look of it?

If it has a finish - it's most probably lacquer, which is susceptible to water damage. There is no finish (that I know of) that canbe applied over lacquer to increase its durability.
I'd go for a glass top...

Thanks for the reply. Let's see if I can describe it well enough. It is sort of antiqued, does not have a shine. You've probably seen it lately. The table is made with old wrought iron looking hinges and has a slight burned look to it. Don't know if that gives any insight, but maybe.
