I am trying to find a self adhesive, matte black vinyl laminate for a desk top I am refinishing. I've had no luck on internet or in stores. Any suggestions much appreciated. - Buzz

A local countertop fabricator or kitchen cabinet dealer should be able to provide you with a sheet of laminate.

Every buildign supply/home center with which I am familiar deals in laminates of some sort - be it Wilsonart, Formica, Micarta - all can order what you want if they don't stock it...

What I have been looking for is a thin but durable, self adhesive material not unlike a contact paper. I have a computer desk with it and had hoped to find a similar material. Thanks much for the help. I'm going to try cabinet makers.

Sorry to have overlooked the "self-adhesive" part of your post. You can cut laminate to size and apply with laminate adhesive and roll to set.
