I have recently bought a toshiba 36zp18p TV, the first one that arrived was tinged with red which increased the longer the set was turned on, it became unwatchable. This set has now been replaced but the new one has blue patches on the screen which are quite clear when certain pictures are displayed on the TV. If you get the blue screen(no signal) up you can quite clearly see darker patches around the screen that correspond to the blue tints apparent on a normal picture. The company that supplied the TV insist that this is normal for a flatscreen TV due to the internal curvature of the screen! Is this true? I would have expected a consistently even colour across the whole screen:confused:

Any info gratefully received.

Whomever told you that this is normal operation is feeding you Bull Bisquits. Sounds like someone bought a bad lot of TV's and is struggling to unload them.

You have a good issue for warranty replacement on this set and I would recommend you take it to Toshiba directly. They have an excellent (and responsive) web site located here:
