i'm rebuilding a deck on top of a concrete slab and i need to know if anyone has any suggestions as to what kind of wood i should get for the frame and joists.

Well, I couldn't imagine that the wood would actually be touching the concrete slab, or is it? I would think there would be some space. You'll be better off if there is some spacing.

Either way, you want to go with pressure treated, minimum .40
