I want to add a apprx 8 inch border (dinosaur wallpaper type) to my walls about midway up the wall. I also have cut out dino shapes that will go on various places on the wall as well.
The problem is I have a textured wall (I was told it was a spray on, and it's like little flat globs all over.....ugly).
Is there a glue/adhesive I can put on the back to help it stick, or do I sand down that area of wall where the border is to go? But how do I put up the cut-outs?
......................wishing I had smooth walls!

I have a two part answer.
For your immediate solution, you should sand down the areas, where the cutouts will go. If you wanted to apply them over the texture, I would spray the back of them with 3M 77 adhesive. You can find this at Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. It is an expensive, really strong spray adhesive.
For a final solution. I would definately recommend you fix the problem. Your main problem is the textured walls. You can fix them cheaply too! Start by scraping the big stuff off the wall with a scraping tool. Go to wallliner.com (http://www.wallliner.com/wall_liner2.html) and buy some non woven wall liner. You apply this just like wallpaper and it will turn the ugly texture into a smooth surface ready for additional wallpaper or paint. You will save hundreds over having a plasterer come out and fix those walls!!
With either route, I wish you the best.
