i saw someone paint an upholstered sofa on a home improvement show. i was thinking that this could be the solution to my ugly-recliner problem. i have a hand-me-down which is UGLY but very comfy...go figure.

anyway, i'm wondering if anyone has tried this. i'm worried that the texture will be too rough or the cushions will feel too stiff. i can't find a decent slipcover for a recliner and i wouldn't know where to begin to make one. any advice? TIA
