I think I may have made a very EXPENSIVE unnecessary purchase to the tune of $43.00 per pt.
We recently re- grouted the shower area wall tile and now need to seal it. Being the gullible person that I am, I was talked into a product called "511 Porous Plus" by Miracle Sealants Co. I read the label when I got home, and I think it's so expensive because it may be used indoors AND outdoors. This may be overkill for my bathroom. Can anyone recommend a good quality sealer? I should probably clean the floor grout and seal that too.

PS Has anyone ever heard of a glazed matte finish floor tile water spotting? Our bathroom floor tile does and it drives me crazy. I was thinking of sealing the floor tile also.

This is a high quality penetrating sealer that has been featured on the Martha Stewart Show http://miraclesealants.com/products/penetratingsealants/porousplus.html

Glazed tile does not require sealing. Dried mineral deposits in water will cause spotting. This is not due to tile or glaze failure. White mineral deposits may be more noticeable on certain color tiles. Wiping up water to keep surfaces dry will keep mineral deposits at bay on household surfaces and in tub/showers. Grout is porous and tends to absorb oils, soils, and stains. Thus, a penetrating grout sealant tends to be recommended in areas that are exposed to water and soiling. Reapplication is necessary. Read and follow directions carefully.
