We have a rododendrum (4-5 feet tall) in the middle of the small back yard. We would like to move it in a more sunny area and use it to decorate a big empty spot on the side of the house. Any recommendation on how and when to do the job? Thanks

You could move it as soon as it finishes blooming. Prepare the new site before you dig so that it will be out of the ground as short a time as possible. Don't forget to prune off the old blossoms as this will give you a fuller shrub and more blooms next year. Here is a site that explains how.
