Moving into a new home and I need help with colors. My husband picked the furniture and it is black leather, with dark cherry wood coffee table with the center in glass and end tables with glass tops and he really wants blue to be in this room. The carpeting was not our selection it is beige. Lamps are stainless steel with black shades, also an arc lamp in stainless as well. The walls are currently white. What color of curtains and/or sheers should I use? And any suggestions on a blue would be great!

this sounds like a very modern room with the leather wood and stainless steel, if he is insisting on blue how would he feel on a darker blue washed out with a lighter shade and wood shutters rather then curtians....or an olive green paint with a green/wood color and biege/gold stripe material with off white sheers for the softer look.........blue would work with these colors also i guess

If I were you, I would paint the room Rouge Red from Sherwim Williams and the trim bright white. To add color and style to the window, pick a rich colored fabric and make roman shades to fit the windows, mount inside the frame. To soften the room, add an oriental rug with the rich vibrant colors of reds and golds. Also accent the furniture with lots of pillows with brush fringe in coordinating pillows. You could also add tassels to the lamps to add a creative touch.
