I have an unfinished roof covered with plywood and I want to walk on it. In the old days when there was a porch on the second floor and third floor it did not leak. How did they do that? was it the wood? was it the method of applying the decking which appears to be fir T&G decking? Any suggestions.

typically the use epdm rubber to make a leak proof base beneath the decking.. then the deck is built like usual although i have read sometimes concrete pavers are used to spread the loads. Hope this helps-Josh
