I have a prayer plant that I'd like to take cuttings from to start in another pot.

Question is, when I take the cuttings, do I put in water until they grow roots, or do I place cutting directly into the soil?

Thanks for any help!

My mother-in-law would cut off leggy stems and put in a little jar on the kitchen window sill.
