I'm purchasing a 2400 sf home with hot water base board heating. I want to have central air installed. What type of system would I need. The furnace is only 1 year old so I don't want to replace it. Also, there is no duct work!!!

Is the home one story or two?
Does it have a basement, attic or crawlspace? If it is on a slab, duct work can be run in the attic, if one story.
Have an energy audit done on this specific home by a licensed heating & air contractor, or contact the power company to see if they offer the service, to determine the size AC system that you need.
Once you know what size AC system is required, get three bids on the job, and check references.
