hi i am new to this site and would appreciate any help on container growing, i live in the hebrides scotland and live on a croft which we are trying to retrieve from wilderness, we are trying to create a new kitchen garden with raised beds from totally uncultivated land, in the meantime i am trying container growing with green beans dwarf variety named ferrari, all the books and articles i read tell me not to water until flowers appear but the plants will surely suffer, at the moment i have them in the conservatory as the weather does not permit me to put them outside as yet and we are nearly in june!!!!
could anyone advise me on the amount of water i should give these plants until i can put them outside?

I don't know what size your containers are so it would be difficult to say exactly just how much water. I would suggest that you water until the water runs out the bottom of the container. Watering deeply makes the roots go deeper and is better for plants. Do not let the plants or containers sit in water.
