I have a bathroom wall with ugly ceramic tile. How can I remove the tile without destroying the wall?

If the tile is on sheetrock then there is almost no way to save the wall. I would just cut the tiled wall out and resheetrock the area (unless it is a wet area and then you should use backerboard). If the tile is on backerboard you might be able to get the tile off but I would think that it would still be easier to just redo the tiling surface so that you can make sure it is done right.
