I have replaced my blower motor on my 14 year old York furnace with a 1/3 hp 115 volt A O Smith electric motor. I was told at the parts store that wiring should be the same with the exception of the yellow wire on new motor is the same as the white wire on old. Should be easy to hook up new motor in same wire configuration as old but not so. I here a heavy whining noise when I throw the switch and the motor does not turn. The new motor has a yellow, blue, black, brown, brown with white stripe, red, and green wire. The blue is to the blue, the black is to the black, the green is grounded, the browns and yellow are to the capacitor but this is obviously not correct.....got any guidance?
thanks

Take the yellow wire off the capacitor and tie it in with your white (neutral) wire of your line voltage.
