hi,
is it necessary to seal ceramic tile?or just seal the grout between.
there is about 1/4 inch of grout between the tiles.would it be advisable to purchase extra tiles in case of breakage??

Glazed ceramic tile does not require sealing. It is however recommended that unglazed tile be sealed. It is recommended that grout be sealed if major soiling is going to be a possibility. Grout tends to be absorbent of oils, soils, and stains.
It is recommended that you calculate at least 5% extra tile for waste. Having a few leftover tiles do come in handy if you have to do a repair.
