I have 3 odd shaped pieces of inch marble to replace the top on a vanity - is there a way to do this myself (ie cut it to fit the vanity), or should I wait until I can afford a professional?

You could mark the peices and bring them into your local tile shop...they would cut it for you for a reasonable price.
