Please may I get some advice on how to build a breakfast "L" shaped breakfast bench? I would like to use oak veneer on the outside, nothing too complicated but with a storage seat. I have seen already made models in the wood furniture stores.
Your advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,
You can try your local library for books about benches,
and also try this.
www.google.com
in the search box type in "storage benches"
or "corner benches"
or "benches"
you'll get a lot to search through
good luck,
Trent

wolfneagle, I have tried the internet search and found little to go on. What kind of "wood furniture stores" have you looked at? It seems to me like this would need to be a custom job to make it fit properly (mostly in length). Are these built in units that you are looking at?
My brother and sister (both live overseas unfortunately) had these same type of benches custom made but neither has the plans for them - just a creative carpenter. I would like to do something like it myself but I am looking for plans or at least a reasonable model to work from.

Hi,
I don't know how big you want this to be. If it is going to be a built in the size wouldn't matter, but if it isn't going to be a built in you need to check to see if you can move it when need be.
My thought would be to make this a "sectional type" of bench.
maybe a square corner bench and the other benches placed along the sides. You might be able to find some plans that you like and adapt them to do this. Haven't found anyone who has seen plans or store bought item of this sort.
again good luck
Trent
ps...........I have seen this type of a bench in a travel trailer.
