I'm painting my newly finished basement. Does anyone have an opinion on which brand of paint offers the best value? I'm looking for a high quality paint without over-paying for it. We're considering Glidden, Sherwin-Williams, and Dutch Boy. Also, is Satin finish the way to go? We want it washable but don't want glossy walls.

Thanks,
Bob

Hello Bob the Builder, Sherwin-Williams prices are hard to beat if you catch them on sale. Also, if you have any connection to a building trade speak with the manager about getting a cash or charge account set up and push for a discount a couple of levels deep. They will almost always do this and your discount will show up on all you buy at the register.
If you want the least gloss that will wash well try an eggshell enamel which is between a flat and a satin.......Mike
