i need to find out about carpet dying.how it works.
what do i need to do it. what all is involved

Most yarns today are solution dyed. This makes it hard to dye it another color. You must have something to heat the dye mixture to 185º or more for the dye to set.

In the old days 20 years ago, they would mix up some Red-i dye and put it in a pump up sprayer like the pest control guys use, and spray it on the carpet and let it dry.

thanks for the reply on carpet dying. so, i may need something
like a steam carpet cleaner to put the solution in? will that work
or do i need more help?
