I recently took panelling off a wall and underneath was this ugly old wallpaper. It looks like the drywall wasn't painted before the wallpaper was put up. I just wanted to know if I would run into problems if I attempted to remove the wallpaper. I want to go with wainscoting on the bottom of the wall but if I can't take the old wall paper off I don't want to go with panelling on the top. Is it possible to paint over the old wallpaper ( the wallpaper is dark) and rewallpaper? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, janice
