what really is enamel paint vs. oil or acrylic? what's the purpose of enamel paint interior or exterior? what do you use to effectively clean enamel oil base out of a brush?

Enamel these days simply means a finish that dries very hard, is scrubbable and resists repeated washings and abrasion. They can be oil, latex or a combination of both. If the brush is still wet, there are brush cleaners (ie Kwik Klean) that you can use, others will use lacquer thinners, others still...motor oil and varsol...try the brush and roller cleaner first. Ask for it at your paint store. There is also a tool called a brush comb, that you can use to drag through and clean the bristles.
