Not to sure where to ask this one. I am building a cabinet over my washer and dryer. I know enough not to build it to low so I will be able to open my washer. My question lies about how deep to build it and how high above the washer to keep it. So i dont have to worry about bumbing my head. Any good sugestions. Or mistakes that others have made so I dont make them as well. I try to simulate different sizes but it is too hard to tell without it actually being there. Any information would be great.
Thanks Dave

Dave;
Washer Dryer cabinets are best if they are 1/2 the depth of the
washer and when the door of the washer is open height of the
cabinet should be at least 4" from the top. I made the mistake of
getting pre-fab cabnets and my wife (4'9" tall):p made me take
them out. I ended up building and modifying 3 sets. :)
Good luck. please let us know how they turn out!

Measure your kitchen cabinets. They are set up for counter clearance and headroom required to work comfortably. Your washer and dryer tops will be used to set clothes baskets, detergent boxes etc.. on while laundry is being done.

Have Fun!
