Hello:
Are there any good "white, color" based stains that can be used to seal pressure treated lumber on decks? I'm trying to avoid the traditional polyurethane clear or "wood" stain look. I am trying to match the color of the deck with the house trim - white is off white. What would be the procedure for applying the stain and where could I find it? do I have to wait a certain period for the chemicals to dry out of the wood?? Any advise is greatly appreciated. thanks, tom.

The longer you wait, the better off you are. Six months, a year, whatever. Let it gray-out some, then give it a good sand with 40 grit paper. Wash and let dry very well. Best bet is acrylic solid stain, tinted to your color. Moore's has a very good one for example. Deck-failure is the leading complaint in most areas, prep is the key. Ask your local dealer (not a box store, a PAINT store) to explain further if necessary.
