I scraped my trim and got all the loose oil based paint off. There is still some intact paint left. Can I use latex or acrilic paint or do I have to stick with oil based?

Hello glennia, assuming theres not some reason to stay with an oil paint in your area I would move to latex paints but you can't go straight on it. After the house is clean and scraped prime the entire house with a good exterior oil primer. If you use KILZ make sure you get the exterior type. When that dries caulk as needed and paint away with latex house paint of your choice. The primer can be tinted about 25% toward the final coat and if you use a good paint may get out with a prime and one coat but two would be better. If you choose to go with oil paint spot prime any areas scraping went to the wood with the oil primer and paint out with oil.....Mike
