We have a pretty large (9'x8') patio door in our living room. The door slides from the middle to the left. I previously had custom vertical blinds, but we just had new vinyl (double pane with low E) windows installed, and 4" wood moulding was added around the top and sides. Now, the brackets can't be mounted in the same place so the blinds would be too short. There may be some type of hardware/adapter I could get, but at this point I'm thinking about something different. Privacy is not an issue here, but the window faces west and gets strong sun all afternoon. Although the new windows help a lot, I think it's too much to leave bare, although I love the way they look. Any suggestions? Thanks.

have you thought of a full drape maybe under a cornice, -a decorative iron or brass rod holding a panel with cilps or a 3 section roman shade --i think you have 3 glasses in a door that size?
