I've done this a few times. Although there are lots of products on the market that are designed to dissolve old caulking, I've never found one that really works well.

In the past, I've had great success using a very sharp utility knife and a window scraper. First, I cut along the wall going down at a 45 deg. angle to cut the caulking down to the tub. I then use the window scraper to get under the caulking along the top of the tub. Take your time, use sharp tools and the old caulking will come off quite easily.
