My husband is in midst of remodeling our bathroom and we thought it would look neat to build an arched soffit over the bathtub, primarily over where the shower curtain rod would go. The other examples we've seen involve the entire ceiling area over the tub being arched, but we just want a long, narrow arch (about 4-6 inches?) over the front part of the tub.
How would we go about doing something like that?!
Thanks in advance for your help,

Frame the arch that you want out of two pieces of plywood attached to a 2X4 nailed to the ceiling joists across the opening, with 2X4 framing between them, and 2X4 blocks around the bottom of the arch between the pieces.
Sheetrock over both pieces of the plywood.
Carefully cut a piece of sheetrock the length and width of the arch, score the back of the sheetrock so that it will curve smoothly, and screw it to the blocks.
Tape, mud and sand.
Good luck!
