I have some metal casement thermopane windows and want to remove the glass without breaking it. The glass is glued to the metal with probably a type of silicon seal. I can get a thin tool
between the glass and metal but to not know what type of tool to use to break or cut the silicon seal. Please help.

It may not be silicone, most window manufacturers use a real sticky caulk ( I forget the chemical compound), it's usually grey in color and it stays somewhat soft. If that is what they used for glazing compound in your windows, you can take a hair dryer or propane torch ( heat GENTLY...don't overdo it) and heat the glass and metal area....the caulk will soften enough to slide a thin bar in and pry the glass out. I've had to do this on a lot of aluminum sashes to get the glass out.
